Dr. Ijeoma Nduka holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB BS) degree from the University of Nigeria in 2000. Thereafter she went further to obtain a Diploma and Masters degree in Public Health with sub-specialty in Environment and Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine- University of London from 2008-2010. Dr. Ijeoma Nduka was awarded a Fellow of the Medical College of Public Health in 2010 after completing the mandatory duration of residency training in Community Medicine. She completed her residency training at the University of Port-Harcourt Teaching Hospital from 2005-2010 where she emerged as a pioneer resident doctor of the institution. By this fellowship she is a Consultant Community Physician and currently works as a lecturer and consultant with the Abia State University Teaching Hospital, Aba Nigeria. Dr. Ijeoma Nduka is the current Head of Department of Community Medicine in the institution where she holds various other positions. She is the Program officer of the HIV/AIDS project in the hospital formerly funded by USAID through FHI-360 but now funded by NACA/SURE-P. She heads a team of doctors that deliver effective and efficient health care to rural communities in Obigwa Local Government area of Abia State. She is responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring programs for undergraduate medical students in the university.
She has interests in research and reaching out to the hard- to-access population in Nigeria.
